Honda is known all over the world as the manufacturer of the best and the most reliable cars ever made. Civic generation has become one of the most popular series of automobiles in every part of the globe. Honda Civic has always been the combination of value and good looks which is definitely the explanation for its opinion. The vehicles manufactured by Japanese producer tend to keep the price so the decrease in the cost of a used Honda models after every year is relatively low in comparison to other brands. Probably now you answer yourself a question why not to buy something cheaper or younger than a used Honda Civic. The answer is simple, nothing else will offer you that quality and no other car can give the user the used Honda Civic’s reliability. The market is full of second hand vehicles and the final decision is always up to the buyer, but those smart ones always choose the used Honda Civic. The car is almost indestructible and offers a lot for its price so deciding to purchase one is probably the best possible option when it comes to buying a used vehicle.

Some cars just heighten overall driving pleasure, some provide speed and manoeuvrability and others just ooze with class. Then you have the odd few that do all of the above and much more. One example of such is the used Aston Martin V12 Vanquish; a vehicle that is truly in a league of its own. Everything about this unit seems to be near-on perfect is every aspect. Visually it is just astounding thanks to its electrifying exterior body shell that makes it stand out from the rest. Inside, the luxurious interior is beautiful and this is often the case with the second hand used Aston Martin cars – simply because AM Vanquish owners take much pride in the appearance of their vehicle; it is just not one of those cars that are neglected by its owner. And then you have what is underneath the bonnet – a V12 engine of the highest calibre. With a top speed of up to 204 MPH (depending on version) and a 0 to 60 mph rate of as little as four seconds, it is no wonder that many used car buyers opt for a used Aston Martin. Of course, in an ideal world a brand new version would be purchased outright, but this type of choice is reserved for the extremely wealthy individuals and / or vintage car collectors. Nonetheless, a second hand used Aston Martin will provide the same class and distinction as a new version and, as noted above, will no doubt come in a pristine condition given that its past owner will have taken a great deal of pleasure in maintaining its overall appearance. For a sports car of the highest calibre, buyers could certainly do a lot worse than buying a used Aston Martin V12 Vanquish.

Audi is certainly a company that has increased in popularity over the last ten years. From Germany to the rest of Europe (and even as far out as the USA), Audi has become the car of choice for many buyers. Much of the companies’ success, like with all other automotive manufacturers, can be assigned to a flagship vehicle. In Audi’s case, their particular flagship model is the new and used Audi TT. A small, sleek and versatile little unit, the TT has become one of the most recognised cars of the century. So why has the TT garnered such praise and been awarded the title of the “flagship” car? Well for starters – its exterior looks provide much visual entertainment and its interior is equally impressive – even the standard units. The car has also aged well with time. For example, the older used Audi TT shape was what propelled the companies’ brand name to extreme heights when it first came into the market. Since then, this used Audi TT has been replaced by an updated and more modernised version (this took place around 2006). Nonetheless, the original can still stand toe to toe with many vehicles in the same class and not look out of place. This in itself is a credit to the excellent engineering of Audi as they certainly build vehicles that are designed to withstand the age of time. As for the new TT model, this is certainly a sight to behold and is a vehicle that will undoubtedly go on to become as popular as its predecessor. In summary then, whether you are buying a new or used Audi TT and whether this is the older shape version or the new and upgraded option, you will be buying a quality machine that will be instantly recognisable all over the globe.

If you are really into sport cars probably the word Ferrari is the first one that comes to your mind. The Italian producer has always been on the top in that class and the brand is known all over the world as the invincible leader in creating fast and luxurious vehicles. Only a few can afford to become an owner of a new Ferrari, the price is as high as its performance and the target of the company are really rich people. If your wallet is in a way to slim for such expenses, but you have always wanted to find out how it feels to poses such beauty than you should decide for a second hand one. The line of the car is timeless and the engines manufactured by the best engineers will not fail for many years so purchasing the used Ferrari is worth consideration. Deciding to buy that vehicle means getting something special and reliable that makes everybody to look back on the street. Ownership of the used Ferrari can become reality instead financial suicide so do not hesitate and reach for your dreams.

Probably one of the more popular methods of purchasing a van is van hire purchase. To begin, an initial outlay is required in terms of a deposit. This is then followed by fixed monthly payments for a set amount of years depending on the contractual terms. VAT registered companies/users can claim back the initial deposit. Upon the final monthly repayment, the ownership of the used van is then transferred to the owner. This is not normally the case with other used vans finance deals, which is probably why van hire purchase is favoured by many van drivers. To summarise then the main benefits of this type of finance package is that there is only a small initial outlay, the monthly payments are fixed (which may ease any cash flow issues), early settlement is an option and the ownership of the van is transferred once all repayments have been made. All in all it is a pretty good deal and understandable very popular among traditional drivers.

All UK fleet companies and individuals with used vans that are renewing their motor insurance policies in the third quarter of the year could face an increase in premiums. Currently some ninety-one percent of underwriters are predicting a rise in amounts of insurance premiums for vans and trucks. This seems to be in stark contrast to predictions for the second quarter of the year in which virtually every underwriter stated that there should be no change in rates for this type of cover for vans and HGVs. This, however, no longer seems to be the case. As the economic downturn has worsened recently in the United Kingdom, fleet companies have cut back on their vans and other vehicles by spending less on insurance, among others, and therefore pushing up rates in order for insurers to remain profitable or stay afloat. This dramatic change in forecasts for motor insurance in the case of vans and trucks is symptomatic of a ‘hardening’ market when insurers are willing to drive up premiums. These rises are intended to continue for at least the rest of 2009 with a view to returning the market to profitability and prevent even more significant increases in 2010. Despite the pessimistic predictions, new entrants to the market as well as the desire to retain market share in the segment of vans and HGVs means that overall rate rises are predicted to be modest.

Looking around Europe and trying to rescue its motor industry, we also finally have the scrappage scheme in action. All across the United Kingdom sales figures are creeping north under the scheme. Despite this though, not every dealership seems to be happy. Well, the happiness seems to depend on the way the business is done. It is probably one of reasons why, in spite of the recession, car supermarkets seem to be doing quite well. Car supermarkets are simply striving to make the most of all car market opportunities. If you are very eager to buy a new car, you had better do it today. Car supermarkets want to have their cash flow untouched and this is why they tend to sell cars now at lowest in order to get money for further undisrupted functioning and immediate execution of new orders. This means a real bargain for any customer focused on a new purchase. Does it not seem to be the essence of car supermarkets at times? When we want to buy some food and other groceries we normally go to a supermarket where prices are supposed to be discounted. The same business process actually relates to car supermarkets – making them a place to get a real bargain even in hard times.

As everyone knows a vehicle’s value depreciates immediately once it is sold and then leaves the dealership. While taking a look at financing costs and interest, one may find that the vehicle is financed for more than its real value. Because buying a new or nearly new car with use of car financing means a sort of investment and long-term commitment, it might at least be wise to protect its value and secure the vehicle as an asset. And this is what GAP insurance is for. The general purpose of GAP insurance is to secure the car’s value in case of any tragic and unexpected event, which could result in the car being a write-off. It applies usually to newer vehicles, but the good thing is – it is not only brand new types. As there are indeed many providers of gap insurance in the market, their policies and well offers may vary in many aspects – regarding the car’s age, sometimes mileage, the type of car insurance policy and the financing plan upon which the vehicle has been purchased – credit, lease or loan. At this point it is good to remember that recently, many lease agreements include gap insurance as a feature, which serves as a manner of business protection for either party. At the same time one needs to bear in mind that the gap insurance is effective only if an insured claim results in the total loss of the vehicle. Still, if the vehicle has been bought via financing containing a sort of financial burden, it seems to be valuable to have GAP insurance in place for the sake of peace of mind.

I love BMW – in fact as I would go as far to say that they are probably my all time favourite car dealership. My favourite cars within the range are the 3 series, 5 series and the X5. However, the X5 is now used and a new model is in town in the form of the X6! Wow is the only word that I can use to describe this vehicle. It is absolutely stunning. What impresses me so much about BMW though is the efficiency that each of their cars bring to the road. I suppose it comes as no coincidence then that the manufacturer themselves are indeed German, who are well known for their efficiency among car enthusiasts. Personally, I have bought many BMW cars over the years (both new and used) and even when I have bought from the used cars section, each time it has felt like I have bought a brand new car. Obviously there may have been a few marks on the exterior but in terms of driving ability and functionality – each vehicle felt like it was brand new. Now to me, that is the sign of a good car when you can buy second hand and still feel as though you are operating a new car! It is amazing really when you think about it. I have no doubt that the people at BMW upon receiving a used car for sale. They most probably check the engine and test the performance before putting it out into the showroom and up for sale. The rival to BMW is no doubt Audi, who also make fantastic cars with equally good efficiency. However, for me, due to their longevity in the marketplace and the fact that they have such an emphatic reputation worldwide, BMW takes the mantle for me.

Personally I have never been one collecting cars as I am not of the age to have seen some of the older types. Too be honest I don’t think that I ever will want to collect neither! However, it does seem to be quite a popular hobby for many car enthusiasts and I think that in time it may just grow over the next few generations. The reason for this being that with all the new designs and models being introduced by the likes of Audi, Honda, BMW and Jaguar etc, it makes the older cars more extinct as there are much less than in proportion to the newer cars. I am talking about the used ford mustang or the used jaguars of the world that many of us young guns have never even heard of. These machines were the catalyst for the automotive industry in previous years, which is why cars like these are worth so much money. The people that buy them as collectable are usually those of the older generation and prefer to be these used cars instead of the latest cars being offered by the car makers of today. I suppose I can understand this to some degree. Thinking about it – if in say fifty years time and there are loads of electric or flying cars zooming around the place, if I had the options to buy a used Audi R8 as a collectors’ item – I think I may just be interested because as it stands today, I have no chance of buying one given the cost and maintenance expenses. However, in years to come (and if I could afford it!) one might consider having such a car in my garage as a vehicle ornament. The more likely option though is that in fifty years time for example, they will probably cost more than they do now!
